DIY Halloween lights kids can make.

Halloween-lights
I found out just hours before time that great grand was coming over for two days of daytime babysitting.  I had to quickly come up with some entertaining crafts for a 3 1/2 year old to keep him entertained.  We did our usual cookie baking, hide and seek games, object counting, color identification, book reading, playground time, McDonald’s lunch and this fun DIY Halloween light decoration.

He really enjoyed putting the glittery Halloween Dollar Store stickers on little plastic bathroom size cups.  I cut the X slits in the bottoms of the cups using a sharp paring knife and he helped push them onto the lights.  Then…[drum roll and ♫ trumpet music♪] … the turning on of lights!  What fun!

I’m taking this same idea with me to visit the other little grands tomorrow.

  1. What a great idea! Beautiful pictures, too. He looks so happy with his project - one that produces something everybody uses, which is not an easy find for a child that age!
