No bake Cinco De Mayo Sombrero cookies

Cinco de Mayo is a fun holiday celebrating Mexican heritage on the 5th day of May.  Here is a sweet treat sombrero made from ready to assemble ingredients.  Get the kids in on this, they will love putting them together.

Ingredients:
Pecan Sandy cookies
White icing
Gumdrop candies
mixed color sprinkles

Assemble:
Pipe a ring of icing around the edge of the cookie. and add color sprinkles to look like colorful tassels on a sombrero brim.
Add a dot of icing in the center of the cookie and place a gumdrop on it for the hat crown.
That really is all there is to it.  How fun is that?
Now for some festive DIY paper stars to put up.  They are fun and easy to make.  Even the kids will enjoy it.  Click here for step by step (with photos) on how to make them.  Click here to see the party luncheon and more decoration ideas.
