Yard witches

It's time to start putting out the Halloween decorations...yeah!  Little Grand just loved the yard witch I had out last year, so I made one for her yard.  Fortunately for me, a neighbor replaced their fence a couple of weeks ago where I salvaged a few boards.  I also went through the garage finding paint and a cross piece for the hat,  making this DIY  project almost free.

This yard witch hat area is spray painted black.  A wood brim is glued & screwed in place.  Her  face is spray painted green; the body & legs are painted yellow & green striped.
Arms are a wire clothes hanger.   Her dress is a kitchen garbage bag with duct tape stripes.

The new witch has a hat band of duct tape that matches the stripes applied  to her dress. Her hair is jute rope and She's accessorized with a vintage pair of evening gloves, dollar store pumpkin,
cute paper mask from the Target $1 isle and a little poster board sign.

This is last year's lady witch. The board is painted black except for the face area which is green. Facial features are drawn on with permanent marker. The dress is a kitchen garbage bag with the bottom cut open; big yellow polka dots spray painted on.
Cinch the trash bag closed around the neck and tightly tie around the wire arms. Stick some old gloves (garden gloves or rubber cleaning gloves work great) on the wire arms. Soften the ground with water, then push the fence board into the ground several inches.

Here are two sisters ready to welcome you.
